blackburn_timothy_garlandTimothy Garland Blackburn, 56, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at his home in Radford, Va. He was a member of Morgan’s Chapel United Methodist Church and a psychiatric technician at Carilion St. Alban’s Hospital with 37 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Stella Martin Blackburn. Survivors include his wife, Robin H. Blackburn, of Radford; a son, Martin Blackburn, of Radford; a daughter, Brooke Blackburn, of Roanoke; a sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Doug Gardner, of Radford; a special granddaughter, Kaylee Blackburn, of Dublin; a niece, Amanda Gardner, of Bristol; a nephew, Scott Gardner, of Radford; and many other friends, relatives and his St. Alban’s family. Tim was a man of strength, loyalty, faith and love for his job, church, horses, relatives, friends and above all love for his family. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, April 23, 2010, at the Morgan’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darlene Marshall officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2010, at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Morgan’s Chapel UM Church.
