Black, Elmer Allen

Elmer Allen Black, 90, of Rich Creek, passed away Friday, February 1, 2008, at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, in Christiansburg. He was born in Rush County, Ind., on June 14, 1917, and was the son of the late Samuel Isaac and Beatrice Huffman Black.

He was a retired employee of Celanese Acetate, in Narrows, with many years of service.

He is survived by a nephew, Alan L. Black, of Lexington, Va.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 3, 2008, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service, in Narrows, with the Rev. Tim Cline officiating.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at 3 p.m. Burial will be held Monday, February 4, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery, in Lexington, Va., with the Rev. Gary Short officiating.
