black_alicia_packAlicia Pack (Nadine) Black, 71, of Riner, Va., departed this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at her residence after a brief illness. She was born on January 22, 1939, in Riner, the daughter of the late Joseph Homer and Angeline Jones Pack. She was faithful member of the Mount Airy UMC, Riner, Va., where she served as pianist for several years. She was a Sister in the Order of the Eastern Star Tri County Chapter #238. Alicia was retired from RAAP, after 28 years of service and was employed by Wal-Mart, Christiansburg for 13 years. Alicia graduated from C.I.I. and attended Bluefield State College and N.R.C.C., where she earned a degree. She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband, William G. Black; three sons, Raymond and Waymond Smith, and Cedric Black; nine grandchildren; and a host of friends and relatives. Service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Central United Methodist Church, Radford, Va. The family will receive friends from noon until time of service at the church.
