Bishop, Norma Sowers

Norma Jean Sowers Bishop, 89, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023. She was a long-standing member of Calvary Baptist Church in Radford, and owned Bishops Upholstery with her late husband, Freddie Ray Bishop, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband; parents, Harless Calvin and Pearl Ayers Sowers; her siblings, H.C. Sowers, Tommy Sowers, Virginia Small, Gertrude Buckland, Clarence Sowers, and Lillie Mae Trigg; a daughter, Brenda Sue Bishop; and a grandson, Stephen Travis McDaniel.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Freddie Ray Bishop, Jr. and Kathy, Sara Faith Bishop, and Timothy Alan Bishop and Rhonda; grandchildren and their spouses, Amy Marie Bishop Berry and Eric, Becky Lynn Bishop, Chelsea Rae McDaniel, and Matthew Brandon Bishop and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Owen, Shawn, and Kylie; brother, Billy Ray Sowers; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann Linkous and Lakie; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford.
