amem_daffodils.jpgElizabeth Williams Bishop, 82, of Roanoke, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 31, 2007. She was a native of Floyd County.

Mrs. Bishop retired from Lewis-Gale Medical Center in 1995 after 16 years of service, was formerly employed at Lendy’s Restaurant and was proprietor of B & B Grocery in the 50’s and 60’s.

She was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, James Roy Bishop. Surviving are her beloved sister, Trinkle W. Thompson of Floyd County, VA; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Thomas L. Gilsdorf, of Williamsburg, Penny and Tony Riquelmy, of Roanoke; three grandchildren, James Robert and Thomas L. Gilsdorf, Jr. of Williamsburg and Anthony William Riquelmy of Roanoke; special nieces and their husbands, Wanda and James Gaither, Charlene and Allen Angel; and several great-nieces and nephews, as well as many friends, neighbors and her very special cat, Blackie.

Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, January 1, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Rd., Roanoke. Funeral service celebrating Mrs. Bishop’s life will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at West End Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tony Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
