bishop_bobby_leeBobby Lee Bishop, 82, of Christiansburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Betty Lester Bishop.

He was also preceded in death by his father and mother, George Dewey and Livie Epperly Bishop; precious brothers, James, Harold, Landon, and Thomas; sister, Lila; as well as multiple sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Bobby served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran from 1956 to 1958 when he was honorably discharged. He returned from his service and began his long career as a foreman and machinist at Lynchburg Foundry. After retiring from the Foundry he spent countless hours helping his brothers tinker on cars and also helping to care for the grounds of New Hope Church of God.

Left to cherish the memory of this sweet man are his daughter, Kathy; sons, Randy (wife Ashley), and Kelly (wife Leslie); grandchildren, Thomas and Mikayla; sisters, Lorene, Marie, and Frances; along with multiple nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 26, 2016, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Joseph Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
