Bishop, Annie Bernice

Annie Bernice Bishop, age 89, of Christiansburg was called to be with her heavenly father, on July 3, 2020. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Bishop, Jr. and her parents, Samuel and Louise Redmond.

She worked with New River Community Action in Christiansburg and also as a home health care provider.

Bernice is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Samuel M. Bishop of Christiansburg and Clayton and Susan Bishop of Greenville, SC; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn B. Trussell of Blacksburg, Barbara Bishop-Dow and Cornell Dow of Christiansburg; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Asbury United Methodist Church, Christiansburg. Graveside services will follow at noon at Schaeffer Community Cemetery with Rev. Hiawatha Spraggins officiating. The family would like for masks to be worn and social distancing to be practiced during services.
