Billingsley, Beverley Jean Price

Beverley Jean Price Billingsley, 74, of Christiansburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 19, 2010. She was born September 15, 1935 in Montgomery County to the late J. Randolph and Rebecca Landes Price. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James H. “Jimbo” Billingsley, Jr. and mother-in-law, Margaret Billingsley. She taught Spanish for fifteen years at Christiansburg High School before raising her girls. She then returned to teaching at Auburn High school for ten more years. She was a life-long Lutheran and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. She belonged to the Delta Kappa Gamma and Beta Sigma Phi Sororities. She loved cats and reading, and her children always came first. She was a beloved mother to her daughters, Rebecca (Becky) Billingsley and partner Gretchen Mages of Charlottesville, Va., and Margaret (Meg) Billingsley of Sydney, NS, Canada. She was also survived by a granddaughter, Cassidy Skye Mages-Billingsley of Charlottesville, Va., and numerous other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church Building Fund Principal, or a Humane Society or S.P.C.A. of your choice. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Fred Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
