Berger, Patricia Reynolds

On Saturday October 17, 2020, the angels took flight and lifted Patricia Reynolds Berger to her eternal rest. She was born in Blacksburg, VA on April 30, 1934 to the late Robert and Carrie Reynolds.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Henry Dean Berger, sister Mary Keys, brothers Robert “RJ” Reynolds Jr., John “JB” Reynolds, grandson Brandon Berger, and son-in-law William R. Thomas.

Patricia accepted the Lord at a young age and was baptized at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she continued to serve her entire life. During her tenure, she served as a member of the choir and a dedicated member of the Trustee board. Her voice blessed many through song and service as a pianist.

She completed her education at the historic Christiansburg Industrial Institute in Christiansburg, VA, where she remained a lifetime member of the Alumni Association.

Patricia was a longtime member of the Odd Fellows Board, where she assisted with the planning and execution of various events. She was also a faithful participant of the monthly prayer breakfast at Blacksburg United Methodist Church. She especially enjoyed her fellowship with friends at the weekly Asbury United Methodist Church Bible study group.

She leaves to treasure her memory, son Leon “Jackie” Berger (Vicky), daughters Linda Thomas, Regina Wingo (Albert), and Lisa Berger. Six grandchildren Nikole, Amber, William Jr,, Noel, Cody, Amara, one great-grandson Easton and her beloved furry grandson “Buddy”. Sisters, Rebecca Ford, Aldora Green, Barbara Burton(Edward), Estelle Hairston and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday October 23, 2020(6pm-8pm) at McCoy Funeral Home,150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg, VA 24060. A private service for the family will be held on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 397 Blacksburg, VA. 24060. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
