Glendon Earl Bentley, Sr., 76, of Radford, Va., passed away Friday, January 2, 2009 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Bentley served in the US Army and was also a Life Member of the VFW Post #776 and the American Legion. He was a retired mechanic from Dick Price Ford and was employed at Advance Auto.

He was preceded in death by his parent’s, Ross and Eva Mumm Bentley and eight siblings. He was a devoted husband of fifty-one years and father. He is survived by his wife, Joan Bentley; and children Glendon Jr. and wife, Linda Christine, of Rowlett, Texas, Timothy and wife, Tammy, of Richfield, Minnesota, Colleen and friend, Cecil, of Pulaski, Virginia, Jeff and wife, Becky, of Mocksville, North Carolina, Bruce and wife, Susan, of Salem, Virginia; brother, Ross Bentley, of Tuscan, Ariz.; three sisters, Marilyn Cymbolk, of Wisconsin, Ruth Bentley, of Connecticut, Virginia “Tiny” Hazelton, of Vermont; also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Mullins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jonathon Webster officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, with V.F.W. #776 conducting Military Rights. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
