Timothy Calvin Bennett, age 54, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at his home in Rich Creek, VA, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born January 22, 1968, in Hinton, WV, he was the son of the late Calvin “Buddy” Bennett Jr. and Rachel Frances Miller Bennett.

Timothy was a member of the Johnston Chapel Baptist Church in Princeton, WV, where he was involved with the Men’s Bible Fellowship. He was a former member of the Rich Creek Lions Club. He graduated from Ballard Christian School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Tennessee Temple Bible College. Timothy worked several different jobs, most notably serving as manager at Pizza Plus in Rich Creek, VA, for several years. Additionally, he worked along side his brother Steve mowing lawns for Bennett Lawn Care. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time in his garden, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sherry Lynn Bennett. Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years, Kelly Hudkins Bennett; one son, Alex Bennett; one stepdaughter, Michaela Murphy; two stepsons, Chandler Scott and Jevin Scott; one brother, Steven Bennett; two sisters, Marcia Reese and husband Keith, and Melissa Naylor; two grandchildren, Cooper and Milo Murphy; special niece and nephew, Sherry and Ike Naylor; special friends who were like family, Pastor Dan Thyng and wife Amy, and their children Kate, Clair, Ben, and Elijah; his favorite dog, Zoey; and a large, loving, extended family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastors Pete Hypes and Jim Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA. Visitation will be held from 12:00PM until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Members of Timothy’s Men’s Bible Class and his stepson, Chandler Scott, will serve as pallbearers.
