Jack Ellis Benefield, age 67 of Dublin passed away Thursday, October 25, 2007 at the Pulaski Community Hospital. Born August 25, 1940 in Carrollton, GA, he was the son of the late Boyd Benefield and Mattie Gunnells Benefield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter; Barbara Benefield, son; David Benefield, one brother; Jerry Benefield, and two sisters; Linda Benefield and Lee Chapel.

He was a 20 year veteran of the United States having served in Vietnam and retired as an E-7. After serving in the military, he was a prison guard in North Carolina where he retired after 15 years of service.
