Bell, Anne Remsen

Anne Remsen Bell, age 79, of Blacksburg died, Sunday, October 13, 2013, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Va. She was born in Martinsville, VA on June 28, 1934 to the late Tony and Helen Davis Remsen. Anne served as the administrative assistant for the Virginia Tech Athletic Association where she was the mother-away-from-home for many grateful student athletes over the years. Anne and Jim spent summers at their cottage on the Eastern Shore of Virginia where she graciously hosted family and friends each summer on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. They spent winters in Blacksburg where Anne was an avid supporter of Hokie sports. She was a loving wife, nurturing mother and special and generous grandmother and will be sorely missed by family and friends. She is survived by her husband, James B. Bell of Blacksburg, son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Joanne Bell of St. Paul, MN, grandsons David Bell and his wife, Liz, and Zachary Bell and his girlfriend Anne, all of St. Paul, MN. Memorial services will be held Sunday, October 20, 2013 at 2:00pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Todd Milsaps officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at McCoy Funeral Home. A private burial will be held in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Virginia Tech Foundation for the James B. and Anne R.
