Warren Harding (Pappy) Belcher, age 86 of Rockville, Maryland departed on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 surrounded by many loved ones. Born November 8, 1922 in Meadows of Dan, He leaves behind four children, Rebecca Taylor, Samuel Belcher, Sr., Sandra Cassell and Carol Duffy, his girlfriend of 20 years June Taylor, sister, Lenna Conner of Meadows of Dan, VA, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 11 great- great grand children.

He was preceded in death by his wife Annie Nester Belcher, 2 grandsons and one great grandson. He grew up in the Blue Ridge Parkway Area and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII. Some called him the lawn mower man.

Friends will be received Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 3-5 and 7-9 at Pumphrey’s Colonial Funeral Home, Rockville,MD.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Bower Funeral Home, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski

Funeral services will be held 1:00 Sunday, May 24, 2009 in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski. He will be laid to rest next to his loving wife in the New Dublin Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Dublin, VA. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the Pulaski V.F.W. Post # 1184. The family will be gathering at the home of Brenda and Jim Gacek, 4292 Horseshoe Loop (Black Hollow Heights), Dublin.
