Beeman, Don L.

Don L Beeman, 79, of Blacksburg, Va., formerly of Leakey, Texas, passed away October 26, 2009. Born May 26, 1930, he was a graduate of USC (BS, 1977) and Pepperdine (MBA, 1979). He was married 56 years to Mary Ann Reed, who preceded him in death October 20, 2008.

He was a musician, from early boyhood, traveling throughout Texas and southern California with his brothers and sister. He served in the U. S. Army in France during the Korean War and spent his career in aerospace procurement, including work in the NASA Apollo program.

Survivors include his daughters and spouses, Carolyn and David Carr, Brenda and Donald Sternfeld; and grandchildren, Ben, Daniel, Joshua Sternfeld, Monique, Tatiana, Carlos, and Joshua Carr.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Fieldstone United Methodist Church, Christiansburg, with the Rev. T. Bryson Smith officiating.
