beasley_lelia_wilsonLelia Wilson Beasley, 87, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, January 3, 2011. She was a loving and dedicated wife and a nurturing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who gave total devotion to the care of her family. She loved vacationing with her family and, in later years, taking long trips with her husband. She cherished family get-togethers and holidays that brought her children to the family home to enjoy memories of times gone by. She enjoyed her life and was fond of telling stories of happy events, always with her family at the center of her world. Preceding her in death was her loving husband, Fred M. Beasley. Fred and Lelia brought their children to Main Street Baptist Church in the early 1950s and have been faithful to the church for almost 60 years. Surviving are her three sons and daughters-in-law, Philip and Angie Beasley, Jerry and Gina Beasley, and David and Leslie Beasley; grandson, Travis and his wife, Amber; granddaughter, Tara Martin and her husband, Leon; grandsons, Cody, Tyler, and Mike; granddaughter, Samantha; and great-grandson, Brody. The family expresses thanks to Joy Coe, who provided love and kindness as caregiver. The family will receive friends Thursday morning, 10 to 11 a.m., at Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. Funeral services will follow Thursday at 11 a.m. at Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Gary Long, associate pastor of Main Street Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be sent by visiting hornefuneralservice.com.
