Battle, Benjamin Lee

Sgt. First Class, Benjamin “Ben” Lee Battle of Elliston passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.

Sgt. Battle retired from the US Army 82nd Airborne in Fort Bragg after over twenty years of service. He loved the US military and everyone who knew him heard him speak of his pride and patriotism regarding our nation’s military services. He liked to golf and loved football; he even coached in the semi-pro arena and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Above all he loved his family. He moved home to care for his mother when she needed it and always remained single out of his devotion to caring for her and to remain as a helper to care for his siblings.

A viewing will be held from 11-12 a.m. on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Elliston with graveside service following with Dr. Kenneth B. Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors from the Army.
