Bartlett, Clayton Luther
Clayton Luther, “C.L.” Bartlett, 67, of Blacksburg died Saturday, August 30, 2008 results of a boating accident. The son to the late Herman Grady, Sr., and Plina Sue Bartlett. He was also preceded in death by his daughter; Mickey Lynn Bartlett.
Surviving are his wife; Shirley W. Baker-Bartlett, son; Todd Allen Bartlett, and step-son; William “Willie” Mosby Baker all of Blacksburg. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters-in-law; Elwood and Louise Bartlett of Yorktown, VA, Dr. Herman G. Bartlett, Jr. and Susan, of Radford, Thomas and Tammy Bartlett of Colonial Heights, VA, mother-in-law; Verbena D. Walters of Christiansburg, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Kelly and Virginia Walters of Christiansburg, Brenda and Billy Thomas of Christiansburg, and Jean Walters, of Salem, a special friend who he considered to be another son; Samuel Bostwick, Jr. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call anytime after 10 a.m. at The Horne Funeral Home, Friday, September 5, 2008 where the family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon at The Bible Baptist Church in Galax, VA with Rev. Ted Bartlett. Interment will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery in Galax with military honors presented by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. Friends are invited to return to the church after the services for food and fellowship with the family.
