Barr, LouElla Price

LouElla Barr passed away peacefully at home on November 10, 2023. She was born in Montgomery County, VA on April 26, 1944, to the late Leonard and Irene Price. She is preceded in death by her son, Paul Cromer.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Charlie Barr; Her sister Yvonne Nash; Her brother Daniel Price; Her daughters Carolyn Cromer and Bridget (Jimmy) Mitcham; Her Grandchildren Cassie Lawson, Chelsea Cromer, Taylor (Jake) Davis, Shane Mitcham, and Julia Mitcham; Her Great Grandson Brayden Lawson. She is also survived by many loving family members and friends.

LouElla retired from Virginia Tech and spent several years volunteering at Price’s Fork Elementary School, where she was lovingly referred to as Nanny.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lewis Gale Montgomery, as well as the wonderful nurses and caregivers at Intrepid USA.
Donations can be made in her memory to New Mount Zion Lutheran Church.

The family will be receiving visitors from 5 pm-7 pm at Mccoy Funeral Home on Monday, November 13. Her funeral service will be held at New Mount Zion Lutheran Church and be officiated by Pastor Brian Katz and Pastor Michelle Stramiello on Tuesday, November 14 at 2 p.m.
