Barker, Nellie Virginia Hedge

Mrs. Nellie Virginia Barker, 80, of 803 Fayette Street, died Monday, April 9, 2007 at the Glenwood Park Retirement Village in Princeton. Born May 7, 1926 in Montgomery County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Barney and Beulah Mae Hunley Hedge. Nellie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Barker in 1973 and one grandson, Jeffery Duncan.

Survivors: Daughters, Barbara Harvey and husband George of Princeton, Mary Frances Linkous of Radford, Va.; grandchildren, Dean Duncan, Johnny Wesley Duncan, James Ray Duncan, Lorrie Ann Hanger, Derreck Barker, Tammy Carter and Kimberly Piercy; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Macie Songer of Richmond, Va.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Joyce Tedder officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery on the New Hope Road in Princeton.
