Barker, Billy Douglas

Billy Douglas Barker, 67, of Fairlawn went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 10, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Radford. He served in the United States Army and retired from Kroger with 32 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Berkley Barker and Carrie Luddie Martin Barker.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 45 years, Linda Ferrell Barker; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Stephanie Barker of Dublin, and Brad and Carie Barker of Pulaski; his pride and joy, five grandchildren Zachary, Mackenzie, Kobie, Macy and Kayden; uncle and aunt Wilbur and Dollie Martin of Lynchburg; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Billy was an avid sports fan and always supported the Dallas Cowboys and the L. A. Dodgers. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He never met a stranger and will be forever missed by those who knew and loved him.

The family would like to express their thanks to their friends, neighbors, members of Gethsemane Baptist Church, and everyone who supported them with their prayers, love and kindness during this difficult time. Thank you also to Carilion Hospice for their care.
