Thelma Louise Baker, 76, of Shawsville, born May 18, 1931, went home to be with the Lord on October 19, 2007 after a long series of illness.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Virgie and Mason Fleatcher, brothers Ronald and Robert Fleatcher and sister, Beatrice Robertson. She is survived by her loving husband and companion of 53 years, Willie E. (Bill) Baker of Shawsville; and four children, sons, Larry L. Baker and wife, Shelly Baker of Shawsville, Jimmy Roop of Michigan; daughters, Brenda Baker of Shawsville and Virgie Robertson of Marion; sisters, Marie Robertson of Pearisburg, Doris Williams of Narrows, Reba Mann of Pembrook; brothers, Roy Fleatcher and Billy Fleatcher, both of Narrows, Joe Fleatcher of West Virginia; also eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, including two very special great-granddaughters, Jaelyn Sutphin and Cali Lou Ann East of Shawsville; and a special friend, Rosemary Thompson.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2007 from the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Burrell Baker. Interment will follow in Angels Rest Cemetery at Narrows. Friends may call Sunday at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg and the family will receive friends there from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening.
