Baker, Opha W.

Rev. Opha W. Baker, 79, of Christiansburg and formerly of Pilot, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at English Meadows Assisted Living.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia T. Baker. He is survived by his daughter, Drema K. Simpkins, of Christiansburg; granddaughter and her husband, Jennifer and Steve Martin, of Riner. He is also survived by special friends, Donnie and Diana Williams and family.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to English Meadows and Adventa Hospice for the care they provided.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at The Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008, in The Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Everette Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
