Baker, Betty Heinline

Our praying Mom who loved God and loved her family, 90-year old Betty H. Baker of Radford, passed from this life into eternity on Sunday, August 20, 2017, in the presence of her family.

Betty retired after 30 years of faithful service at the Radford Community Hospital where she worked as a data processor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James D. and Iris Heinline; her late husband, Beattie G. Baker; and eight siblings. She is survived by one sister, Martha Owells of Radford. Betty was not only a beloved mother to her children, Betty Jo, Ron, Tommy, Ralph, and Jan, but also to their respective spouses, Jack Smythers, Letha Fisher, Terica Fisher, Robin Fisher, and Janet Fisher. Other survivors include grandchildren, Sarah (Mike) Cupertino, Meghan (John) Edwards, and Luke (Jessica) Fisher, Carrie (Billy) Jones, and Leslie (Stephen) Hoopengardner, Laura Fisher-Brem (Beni), and Brian Fisher; her great-grandchildren include, Charlotte and Adam Cupertino, Joanna and Josiah Fisher, and Will and Jackson Jones. Also surviving are loving nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Betty was a life-long member of Grove United Methodist Church in Radford. We are especially grateful to the loving staff at the Commonwealth Assisted Living Facility for their care and devotion to our mother while she was a resident.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. at Grove United Methodist Church in Radford on Friday, August 25, 2017. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Mark Kilbourne officiating. Interment will follow at Central Cemetery in east Radford.

The family is in the care of DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford.
