Bain, Silas Edward

Silas Edward Bain, 64, of Radford, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2007. He was a member of New Hope Church of God and retired employee of the Town of Christiansburg.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Diann Wells Bain of Radford; two sons, Silas Matthew Bain and his fiance, Amy Taylor Owens of Radford and James Randolph Sowers of Christiansburg; a step granddaughter, Whitney Ramey; two brothers, Roma Lee Bain of Radford and Curtis Bain of Pulaski; two special nieces and their husbands, Linda and Lynn Taylor of Christiansburg and Gayle and Gary King of Vinton; and his faithful companion, Buddy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the New Hope Church of God with the Rev. Michael Bond, the Rev. James Walker and the Rev. Arthur Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, August 21, 2007 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church.
