bain alice myersAlice Jean Myers Bain passed away peacefully on March 3, 2014. Alice was preceded in death by her father Harvey Myers, husband and soul mate Bobby Benson Bain and infant son Rocky Bain. Left to cherish her memory is her mother Eleanor Myers; sister Bonnie Hedge; her brother Robert Myers and his wife Judi; and her children Todd Bain and wife Cathy, Tina Lytton and husband Timmy, and Tonia Banks. Alice had six grandchildren and two great grandchildren and many aunts, uncles and cousins that she dearly loved. More than anything, Alice loved her family. To be able to cook a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal and have everyone over just delighted her. She was so happy this past holiday season that all the family was able to gather around her. Alice loved going to Myrtle Beach with the family in earlier years and was definitely known to strut around in a skimpy bathing suit, cigarette in one hand, fishing rod in the other. She loved a bit of gossip now and then and was just as comfortable telling a dirty joke as she was giving a warm hug. To her, everyone’s name was either babe, luv, sweetpea or darlin. For many a time, after church on Sundays, she and her husband Bobby would take the kids for a walk in the woods….after, of course, rustling up cubed steak, mashed potatoes, gravy and best of all, homemade mac and cheese. Nothing compares. Alice, as we all do, endured some tough times in her life, but in the end was able to turn those struggles into the sassy and spunky person that we all knew and loved. We want to thank everyone who cared for Alice at the New River Valley Medical Center in her last days. The doctors and nurses and staff made themselves family for that time and were compassionate and attentive in every way. They touched our lives and gave us many shoulders to cry on, We cannot say enough good things about each and every one of them. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you turn to your loved ones and embrace them. Time is always too short….love one another openly and without fail. Services will be private The Bain family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford. www.mullinsfuneralhome.com
