Lois Thomas (Geneva) Bailey, 79, of Blacksburg, Va., died Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in Sandstone, W.Va., on April 3, 1930, to the late Lewis S. and Bertie A. Thomas. She is also preceded in death by a brother, John C. “Buddy” Thomas.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jack L. Bailey, of Blacksburg; three sons, Donald Lee Bradberry and fiance, Evelyn Ortiz, of Millboro, Va., Ronald K. Bradberry and wife, Karen, of Covington, Va., and Davis Timothy Bradberry and wife, Linda, of Clermont, Fla.; a daughter, Deborah Bailey Clay and husband, Michael, of Blacksburg; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Sterling Thomas, of Alderson, W.Va., and Billy Thomas, of Talcott, W.Va.; and her special companion, “Baby.”

Geneva was a faithful member of the Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, 2009, in the Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church, Giles Road with the Rev. John Hopkins officiating. Interment will be held 5 p.m. on Sunday at Upland Cemetery, Hinton, W.Va.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress Street, N.E., Blacksburg, Va. 24060. Friends may call anytime after 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2009, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, S.W., Blacksburg, Va.
