MemorialTreeJack Lloyd Bailey, 74, of Blacksburg, went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2013, at his home. Mr. Bailey was born on April 29, 1939, in Hinton, W.Va., and was a son of the late Frank and Pearl Grimmett Bailey. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Thomas Bailey; two sisters; and four brothers.

Mr. Bailey was a retired machinist at Electro Tech in Blacksburg, recently worked for Montgomery County at the Prices Fork Collection Site and was a member of the Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church. He is survived by one daughter, Deborah B. Eaton and husband, J.D., of Pearisburg; three sons, Donald L. Bradberry and wife, Evelyn, of Roanoke, Ronald K. Bradberry and wife, Karen, of Covington, and Davis Timothy Bradberry and wife, Linda, of Clermont, Fla; three brothers-in-law, Lee Blankenship, of Bluewell, W.Va., Sterling Thomas, of Alderson, W.Va., and Billy Thomas, of Talcott, W.Va.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; his honorary granddaughter, Stevee Shelor, better known to Jack as Elmer; and his beloved pets. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev. John Hopkins officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. before the service at Givens Funeral Home.
