Bailey, Diane Caldwell

On January 31, 2022, Diane Bailey passed away after a yearlong battle with cancer to be with the Lord. Devoted wife, mother, family member, and friend, Diane was always there for everyone. A graduate of Virginia Tech, where she met her beloved husband Michael Bailey of thirty years, she never forgot her roots. As she and Michael, along with the pride of her life – son Devin -, moved about the country from outside Washington DC, to Indianapolis, Indiana, Houston, Texas, Jackson, Mississippi, and finally Savannah, Georgia. Wherever she lived, she made close friends. She truly loved them all.

Diane had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities, and her pleasant personality was contagious. She loved a quiet evening with friends and husband Mike and son Devin. During vacation breaks, Diane frequently traveled home to Christiansburg and Lynchburg to visit family and friends.

While in Christiansburg she enjoyed going to Virginia Tech football games and staying on the farm of her uncle and aunt Tom and Deanita Verbeck. She was an active member of Compassion Christian Church where she was served as a greeter, and she became friends with many that entered the service through her doors. She also attended a small group where the fellowship produced many close friends whose help has been instrumental in dealing with these hardships. At the time of her diagnosis, she was a successful real estate agent with Keller Williams, and served on the Savannah Relators Women’s Counsel. The family would like to take this time to thank those that stood with them during this trying period. Your help and support is greatly appreciated.

She is survived by her husband Michael, son Devin, brother David Caldwell, Uncle Tom and Aunt Deanita Verbeck; mother-in-law, Berta Kay Harris (Peyton); sisters-in-law Sheri Davis (Terry) and Suzanne Burley (Lawrence), nieces Alisha Tanka and Melissa Reynolds (Carson), nephews Nick Davis (Makayla), LB, Lucas, and Logan Burley, great-niece Mila Reynolds, aunt, Beulah Epling; and a host of extended Family Members.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to either Compassion Christian Church or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. A memorial service will be held in Savanah, Georgia at a later date. A visitation will be held at Kendall Funeral Home, Friday, February 4, 2022 from 5p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, February 5th, at 1p.m.at Kendall Funeral Home with a burial following in the Clover Hollow Cemetery, Newport Va.
