Aust, Maxine Ellen Gallimore

Maxine Ellen Gallimore Aust, 94, of Pulaski, Va., died Friday, February 19, 2010, in Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born June 15, 1915, in Pulaski, and was the daughter of the late Nancy Richardson Gallimore and McKinley Gallimore. She was a retired employee for the Pulaski County School Board with over 20 years of service. She was very proud of coordinating teacher assignments for the special education department and she was a life-long member of the First Christian Church (DOC), Pulaski. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Roy Aust; a very special daughter, Ellen Claire Aust; and sisters, Jackie Surratt and Bonnie Cheatham; and a brother, Mack Gallimore Jr. She is survived by a son, Gerald (Jerry) A. Aust and his wife, Belinda Kay, of Vienna. A special gratitude is extended to the family of Viola Akers and to Carl and Debbie Akers, along with Maxine’s special neighbors, Harry and Doris Surface, for their loving support and friendship over the years; also survived by a sister, Joyce Thompson, of Pulaski. We would also like to express the family’s sincere appreciation to all of her caregivers and to her family of First Christian Church. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 22, 2010, at 3 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Winn officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 21, 2010, at the funeral home from 2:30 until 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the First Christian Church (DOC), P.O.
