Atkins, Rebecca East

Rebecca East Adkins, 78, of Christiansburg, passed away February 1, 2008 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She is the daughter of the late Ellis M. and Nannie Mae Reece East.

Mrs. Adkins is survived by her husband, Arvil Addie Adkins; sisters, Helen Hemetek and husband, Frank, and Virginia East; brother, Herbert East and wife, Irene; sister-in-law, Emma Homner and husband, Daniel.

Also surviving are her children, Wanda Ramsey and husband, Ken, Diane Nester and husband, Conrad, Michael Adkins and wife, Patricia, and Phyllis Underwood; grandchildren, Kevin Ramsey, Karen Kirkner, Benjamin Nester, Emily Bunn, Heather Adkins, Virginia Adkins, Kate Adkins, Olivia Underwood, and Zachary Underwood; and great-grandchild, Tristan Nester.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Richard Kingrea officiating. Interment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
