Archer, Maude E.

Maude E. Archer, 89, of Somerset, died March 31, 2007 in Somerset. Born March 14, 1918 in Giles County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Bert Collins and Sinda Farley Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Brady Archer, who died in 1983; two daughters, Frances Seiler and Ruth Cline; one grandchild; four sisters, Carrie, Nannie, Mary and Rosezena; three brothers, Oakley, Corbett and John Asby.

Mrs. Archer retired from Little Fuse in Des Plaines, Ill., then resided in Arcanum, Ohio, for 12 years. She lived in Christiansburg, Va., for 17 years prior to moving to Somerset in 2001 to live with her son Earl Archer. Maude was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Somerset.

Survivors include two sons, John Archer of Arcanum, and Earl R. Archer of Crystal River, Fla.; one son-in-law, Ron Seiler of San Diego, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2007, at Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Randolph Dishner officiating. Interment will follow at Archer Family Cemetery at Lashmeet.

Friends may call Monday, April 2, from 12 noon until the funeral services.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
