Carl Gilbert Andrews, age 74 of 1786 Newbern Road, Pulaski passed away Tuesday at the Pulaski Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Roy G. & Louise Lester Andrews. A brother, John O. Andrews, nephew, Terry Russell Andrews & brother-in-law, Robert James Fisher also preceded him in death. Carl served in the Korean War and was a M.P. in the U.S. Army, serving with the 558th M.P. in the Demilitarized Zone in Korea. He was a graduate of Pulaski High School. He spent most of his 74 years at the Lynchburg Foundry in Radford where he had over 40 years of service. Surviving are: his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth “Libby” F. Andrews, Pulaski; son & daughter-in-law, Carl Dean & Cheryl Andrews, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; grandson, James Dustin Andrews & wife April, Pulaski; great granddaughters, Adele & Alexis Andrews, Pulaski; step grandson, Scott Phipps & wife Kim, Front Royal, Va., step great grandson, Dylan Phipps. Funeral services Friday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. John Grimm officiating.
