Anderson, Timothy Jon

Timothy Jon Anderson, 49, of Blacksburg VA., died on January 31, 2015, in his home. He was born in Iowa City, Iowa on May 5, 1965. He was second of four children born to T.J. and Maple Ruth Anderson, Jr. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Blacksburg Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Rev. T.J. and Audrey Hinton Anderson, Sr., Berna Dean and Maple Ruth Hill Anderson and his father T.J. Anderson, Jr. He is survived by his beloved Mother Mrs. T.J. (Maple Ruth) Anderson Jr. , and siblings, Audrey Anderson Biggs, Myron Roderick Anderson, and Althea Anderson Dobbins, his Brothers-in-laws, Nathan R. Biggs and Clarence W. Dobbins, his sister-in-law, Vanessa Power Anderson and two nephews, Aaron Anderson Biggs and Ayden Bryant Anderson as well as a host of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and many special friends.

Timothy, a humble and devout person of God, recently received his Doctor of Divinity after retiring from Culinary Services at Virginia Tech where he worked for 17 yrs. He attended New River Community College, where he held the position of Campus Senator and Blacksburg Schools where he played tuba and participated in the community band. He enjoyed music, reading, writing, and fishing.

The visitation with family will be held at 12 pm with the memorial service following at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2015, at Blacksburg Baptist Church, 550 North Main Street, Blacksburg, VA 24060 with the Rev. Dr. Thomas R. McDearis and Rev. Donald McKinny presiding.
