Anderson, Ruth Kirby
Ruth Kirby Anderson, 89, of Radford, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007. She was a lifetime member and currently the oldest living member of Central United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and was very active in many church activities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Wilson Anderson with whom she helped run several businesses including the Radford Ice Plant.
Survivors include a daughter, Harriet R. Anderson of Dublin; a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel L. and Bonnie Anderson of Radford; three grandsons and their wives, Walter Benjamin “Bo” and Cyndi Keister, Jr. of Dublin, Michael Anderson of Mesa, Ariz., and Chris and Joann Anderson of Clayton, N.C.; two great-grandsons, Hayden B. Keister and Aaron J. Anderson; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Evelyn Kirby of Mt. Sidney; four sisters, Barbara Bausman of Garner, N.C., Margaret Miller of Pleasant Gap, Pa., Mazie Wampler of Bridgewater, and Charlsie Anne Langford of Abilene, Texas; and numerous other relatives.
Cryptside services will be held Sunday, April 29, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin with Pastor Ric Wright officiating.
Flowers are not permitted in the mausoleum therefore in lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Central United Methodist Church, 803 Wadsworth St., Radford, Va. 24141.
