Anderson, Ruth Isabella

Ruth Isabella Anderson, 88 of Pembroke, VA went to be with the Lord Tuesday evening March 25, 2014 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Rich Creek, VA. Ruth was born in Pembroke on December 25, 1925 and was a daughter of the late Hallie Burton Anderson and Geneva Chapman Anderson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Hattie Anderson, Violet Dickerson and Lucille Wagner and one brother, Cecil Anderson. Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pembroke and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by one daughter, Helena Anderson Scott of Pembroke, two grandchildren, Tyrome Anderson and special friend, Amanda Walters of Rich Creek and Sabrina Lane Scott of Pembroke, four great grandsons, Donta, Omarion, Lamonte and Xavier, one sister, Margaret Armistead of Washington, DC and one sister-in-law, Oretha Anderson of Pearisburg. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 29 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Pembroke, VA with Pastor James Cooper officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
