Anderson, Melvin Anthony

Melvin “Tony” Anthony Anderson, 57 of Christiansburg, VA departed this life to enter into his Heavenly Home on June 29, 2023 in the loving care of his family. Born November 25, 1965 in Pearisburg, VA he was a son of the Melvin Anderson Sr and the late Gladys Ruth Brooks.

Melvin’s first love was his relationship with Jesus followed by the blessings that would follow in his family and friends. He would provide for his family while driving his truck for National News. In his young life, Tony enjoyed listening to Go-Go music, this would later lead him to love gospel music. He also enjoyed tinkering with older vehicles, playing cards, and playing basketball.

In addition to his mother Tony is preceded in death by a son, Deshavon Royster, and brother, Kelvin Brooks.

Left to cherish his memory are his father, Melvin Anderson Sr or Washington DC; son, Cameron Anderson (Frances Mejia) of Maryland; daughters, Amber Anderson of Blacksburg, Jakara Wheeler of Blacksburg; step-daughter, Yesenia Wheeler of Roanoke; God-son, Kenyon Johnson-Buchannan; God-daughter, Jalisa Rowland; grandchildren, Alijah Chinnery, Kehlani Silvey, and Kingston Clyburn; brothers, Gregory Brooks (Helen Byers) of North Carolina, Corey Anderson of Maryland, and Justin Anderson of Maryland; and several other extended family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt note of thanks to his close and special friends Shelby Evans, Abby Melki, Cedric Tarber, Maurice Gravely, Pam Ramsey, and Tina Anderson, for the love and care they have given Tony.

There will be a Homegoing service conducted on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 12:00 PM in the Radford Church of God in Christ with Reverend Watson officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM in the Radford Church of God in Christ.
