Altizer, Willie Rosemond

Willie Rosemond Altizer, 80, of Shawsville, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2010. The daughter of the late Lonzie White and Mary Katherine Lester, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Howery Altizer, brothers, Oscar Lester, Frank Lester and a sister, Dorthea Hamlin.

She was the loving mother to Donna Brown, Boones Mill, Sharon Huffman and husband, Tony, of Elliston, Janice Loving, and Linda Dull and husband, Roger, all of Shawsville; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; also many special nieces and a nephew.

The family would like to express a special thank you to a special niece Diana Lambert.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening at the Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg, Va. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the graveside in Den Hill Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Wes Conner.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
