Altizer, Charles Wayne

Charlie Wayne Altizer, 72, of Christiansburg, passed away on May 5, 2016. Charlie was an Army Veteran. If he ever met a stranger, it wasn’t long before he was a friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Rachel Altizer; sister, Evelyn Pegram; brother-in-law, George Pegram; sister-in-law, Dedra Altizer. He is survived by his step-mother, Alice Altizer of Christiansburg; sister, Dot Harris and husband Curtis of Riner; and brother, Terry Altizer.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 8, 2016, from 4-6 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A Memorial Service with full military honors will follow at 6 p.m. in the Chapel, with Rev. Jube Burk and Rev. Jerry Shepherd officiating.

The family would like to thank Mary Sue and Joyce, Charlie’s caregivers at home, Good Samaritan Hospice, and the staff of Radford Health and Rehab for their loving care of Charlie.
