Altis, Wayne Douglas

Wayne Douglas Altis, 71 of Copper Hill, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 1, 2023. He is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Patricia Smith Altis; granddaughter, Halie Yaunsem; mother, Della Smoot (Earl); father, Charles Altis; brother, Junior Altis; and brother-in-law and good friend, James Mullins.

Wayne served with the 101st Airborne division, 506th Infantry from 1970-1973 and was a Vietnam War Veteran.

He is survived by his loving children, Adam & Heather Altis, Ashley & Joseph Yaunsem, and Allen Altis; grandchildren, Kalyan and Amaleah Altis, Irelyn, Rafe and Tabius Yaunsem, Zayne Altis; great-grandchildren, Kehlina and Kayden Altis; sisters, Bonnie Johnson (J.B.) and Sylvia Mullins; brothers, David Altis, Dave & Charlotte Crouch; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial celebration honoring Wayne and Patsy’s lives will be held at a later date.
