Alley, Ruby Gertrude Rudisill

Ruby Gertrude Rudisill Alley, age 84 of Pulaski passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the Pulaski Health & Rehab Center. Born June 30, 1926 in Pulaski she was the daughter of the late Walter Shelburne & Flora Virginia Likens Rudisill O’Brien. Her husband Robert W. Alley also preceded her in death.

She was a member of The Family Worship Center -First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Pulaski where she served as a Sunday school teacher for fifty years, and a children’s church leader for twenty-five of those same years and sang in the choir. She formerly volunteered for the “American Cancer Society” as well as Newbern’s “Wilderness Road Regional Museum”. She was an employee of Jefferson Mills with over 25 years of service.

She is survived by her- Son & Daughter-in-law- Larry Stephen Alley & Judith Canter Alley – Pulaski, Grandchildren- Lisa Alley Millen – Pulaski, Sherry Alley Godwin – Asheboro, NC., Lora Alley Ratcliff – Radford, Great Grandchildren- Amanda McManama, Ciera, Matthew and Joshua Millen, Alley and Brianna Ratcliff. Sister- Virginia Ratcliff – Woolwine, VA., Numerous nieces and nephews-

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at the Bower Funeral Home-Chapel, Pulaski with the Dr. C.R. Conner officiating. Interment will follow at the Appalachian Conference-Pentecostal Church Cemetery, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home..
