Alley, Rheba Akers

Rheba Akers Alley, 98, of Floyd, the widow of Eddie Alley, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 12, 2008. She was born on November 15, 1909, to the late James and Laura Akers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Ray Alley; her grandson, Kevin Turpin; three brothers; and three sisters. She was a longtime member of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by daughter, Thelma Eisenlohr, of Willis; two granddaughters, Mary Ann Webb, of Willis, and Glenda Vest and husband, Darrell, of Floyd; four great-grandchildren, Stephanie Weeks and husband, Trey, of Blacksburg, Justin Vest and wife, Iris, of Copper Hill, Eric Webb, of Riner, and Lance Vest, of Floyd; two greatgreat-grandchildren, Michael Webb, of Floyd, and Addison Vest, of Copper Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 15, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Pugh, the Rev. Dale Akers and the Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Maberry Funeral Home.
