Allen, Mary Louise

Mary Louise Allen, 92, of Blacksburg, Va., died on Thursday, October 22, 2009, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in Blacksburg, Va., on July 29, 1917, to the late Fred and Bessie Slusser Allen. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Roy F. Allen and Ivan L. Allen; and two sisters, Irene A. Heavener and Ella A. Hughes. She retired from Electro-Tec.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Allen, of Roanoke; her loving and devoted nieces and nephews, Anne Gordon, Mae Myers, and Nelson and James Heavener, Debbie Chewning, Karen Mitchell, and Freddie Allen; and caregivers, Donna Webb and Nancy Crockett.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2009, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Rice officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 p.m. until service time at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg, Va.
