Aliff, Deborah Griffith
Debby Griffith Aliff, 53, of Christiansburg, was born on July 17, 1959, and departed for Heaven on Monday, January 21, 2013. “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” Psalm 116:15 Debby is absent from the body but she is present with the Lord.
Her favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.”
Debby was preceded in death by her father, Lorenzo Lee “Red” Griffith; grandparents, Sylvia Griffith, and James and Carrie Poole. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Eligah Odell Aliff; her 13 year old son, Noah Odell Aliff; mother and stepfather, Joan O’Dell and Richard O’Dell; two brothers and one sister, Lee Griffith and wife, Rosa, Jay Griffith and wife, Kathy, Terri Griffith Coleman and husband, Mike; brother and sisters-in-law, Clarence “JR” Aliff, Debbie Clemons and husband, David, and Mary Wray; nephews and nieces, Michael, Joshua, Justin, Amanda, Tyler, John, Allan, Tina, Angie, and Carrie; many great-nieces and nephews; as well as special friends, Terri Gearheart, Diane Matthews, Martha Wirt, and Mitzi Hammond.
Debby was a graduate of the Christiansburg High School, Class of 1977. She was employed by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department for 34½ years. She retired in March 2012. She was a member of the Max Creek Baptist Church in Draper, Va. Debby was a cancer survivor. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a loving humble individual always putting others before herself.
The family will receive friends at Horne Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Max Creek Baptist Church, Draper, Va., with Pastor Mike Coleman officiating.
