Virginia Adaline Hylton Bond Alderman, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 31, 2012. Mom is in a much happier place today, enjoying her reunion with those who have already passed before. She is survived by three sons and their families: Roger and Dana Bond of Scottsdale, AR, and grandson Ryan, wife Angie and daughter Vivinee, granddaughter Kara and son Aidan; Richard and Liz Bond of Debary, FL, and granddaughter Stephanie; Ronald and Helen Alderman of Roanoke, VA, and grandsons Rick and Alec. Her family extended to many others, including many dear and personal friends. While living in Floyd County, she was active in her community and loved being a part of her church family at Topeco Church of the Brethren. She was well known for the many long hours she spent quilting and growing her many beautiful flowers in her gardens. Funeral services will be held at Topeco Church, Friday, April 6, 2012 at 11 a.m., Reverend Mike Varner officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Maberry’s Funeral Home in Floyd, VA from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. Gifts of flowers will be graciously appreciated as mom dearly loved flowers as many who passed by her home knew. Monetary donations should be made to the Topeco Church of the Brethren in her honor.
