Remon Weeks Alderman, 91, of Willis, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2007.

Mrs. Alderman was a member of Burks Fork Church of the Brethren since her early years. She was a teacher in the Floyd County Primary Schools for 17 years, and was retired from Floyd Garment Company after 17 years of service. Her musical family includes “The Good Intentions” gospel singers and “DecembeRadio” Christian Band.

Mrs. Alderman was preceded in death by two infant sons and a son-in-law, Donald G. Sutphin. Surviving are her husband, H. Rush Alderman; one son and daughter-in-law, Lonzie C. and Josephine H. Alderman; one daughter, Evah Sutphin; five grandchildren and spouses, Sharon and Gary Reedy, Karen and Stanley Hawkins, Rhonda and Glenn Dixon, Becky and Terry Thompson, and Jerry and Carol Sutphin; eleven great-grandchildren, Amy Jo Fletcher, Adam and Jacob Hawkins, Joshua and Carmen Reedy, Brittany, Hannah, Woody and Joseph Dixon, Benjamin and Emily Thompson; two stepgreat-grandchildren Jacob and Zachary Griffith; and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Josh Kilbourne and the Reverend Stanley Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Willis Cemetery. Friends may call at Gardner Funeral Home on Monday after 8:30 a.m. where the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd.
