Jimmy Darrell Alderman, 54, of Blacksburg, died Friday, January 6, 2012, at his home. Jimmy was part owner of A & T Trailer Park. He was known for his love of his family and his extended family and sports. He enjoyed drag racing his Mustangs at various drag strips and picking at his nephews and nieces for they loved to see “Uncle Jimmy” come to family gatherings, because they knew he would entertain them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton W. Alderman and Elsie E. Alderman; sister, Dana Moran; brother, Clayton Alderman. He is survived by four sisters, Gloria Hylton and husband, David, Francie Sutphin and special friend, Frank Kruszyna, all of Christiansburg, Wanda Nolen and husband, Robbie, of Floyd, Renita Meredith and fiance, Mac Lynn, of Christiansburg; nephews and nieces, Tony and Rhonda Huff, Tracy and Charles Shelton, all of Pilot, Darrell and Tracie Turner, Pearisburg, Amy and Mike Bender, Roanoke, Billy Ray Moran, of North Carolina, Kristy and Roger Smith, Floyd, Chris Meredith, Sierra Meredith, both of Christiansburg, Nick Nolen and special friend, Molly Davis, Floyd, Wes Nolen and Shirl, Dublin; stepnephews, Greg Hylton, Christiansburg, Tony Hylton, Radford; grand-nephews and grand-nieces, Justin Huff, Brittany Huff, Marissa Cook, Cameron Turner, Chase and Kaylee Smith, Eva and Hampton Bender, Micah Shelton, Reese and Jaxson Nolen, Kendra Meredith; sister-in-law, Gloria Alderman; uncle, George Edwards; aunt, Cora Martin; special friend, Mike Donnelly; many other friends and relatives. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Leon Alley officiating.
