Albert, Stephen Douglas

Stephen Douglas Albert, 55, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., died on Sunday, August 19, 2007. Steve was born to Francis Smith Albert and the late Wayne Albert on August 24, 1951 in Pearisburg, Va.

Mr. Albert moved to Myrtle Beach in 1994 from Richmond, Va. He graduated from Giles County High School in Pearisburg, Va. and received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech in 1973. He was employed by Metglas Inc. of Conway, S.C. and was formerly employed by Honeywell & Allied Signal.

In addition to his mother of Pearisburg, Va., Stephen is survived by his wife, Brenda Schwartz; and his beloved cat, Iza, of Myrtle Beach; two sons, Michael Stephen Albert Roberts of Virginia and Scott Douglas Albert Roberts of Texas; and his brother, Jerry Albert of Pearisburg, Va.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2007, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, Highway 17 Bypass. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 N.
