Akers, William H.

William (Bill) H. Akers Jr., 77, of Elliston, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

He was a long time devoted employee of Big Spring Mill, Elliston. He was the son of the late William H. Sr. and Lula P. Akers. He was also preceded in death by a son, Howard Taylor; a brother, Marvin “Ache” Akers; and a nephew, Buddy Jones.

Very loved by everyone, he is survived by his fiance, Christine R. Taylor; daughters, Darlene Peoples and Marilyn R. Taylor; grandchildren, Machelle Taylor, Karen Dooley, Jeremy Akers, Kathy Jarrell, Chris Jarrell and Oscar Jarrell; eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Beulah Akers; an uncle, Fred Pelton; an aunt, Milda Pelton; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend to friends and family a very special thank you. He will be truly missed and will always be in our hearts.

The body will be placed in the Elliston Church of God on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, where, the family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008, in the Elliston Church of God with Pastor Wayne Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Burial Park, Salem.
