Akers, Walter Matthew

Walter Matthew Akers, 81, of Christiansburg, passed away on February 11, 2015. Walter was born on February 16, 1933 to the late Roy Williams and Ocie Shepperd Akers. He is preceded in death by seven siblings.

He is survived by his brother, Robert (Nancy) Lee Akers Sr.; and numerous nieces; and nephews. Walter attended Sunnyside Pentecostal Holiness Church and had a profound love for the Lord. He loved life, his family, and his friends.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. at Sunnyside Pentecostal Holiness Church on Monday February 16, 2015 with the Reverend Steve Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the Lytton Family Cemetery in Montgomery County.
